Avoid forwarded copies, random file mirrors and old installers sitting in a shared folder.

Start from the Download page so you can see the current version and file details together.

Compare the file

PowerShell can show the filename, byte size, SHA-256 and signature status. The SHA-256 changes if the file changes.

If the details do not match the website, do not run the installer.

Keep Windows protection on

The current installer is unsigned, so SmartScreen may show an unknown-publisher message.

Follow the installation guide rather than disabling antivirus or SmartScreen.
